Marilù Fernandez

Years ago, Marilù Fernandez has discovered that stones means also words and she has realized how to read their magic language. Gradually, she has felt conquered and bewitched by corals, which become the ideal and chromatic centre of her jewels. Marilù mixes corals, in the beauty of their natural form, with precious stones, getting harmonies referring to the ancient Egyptian necklaces.

She exalts, using bronze, silver and gold, the originality and rarity of each branch, revealed and regenerated by her clever hands. Nowadays we know coral as "Red Gold", as well as pearls, are the calcareous residue of a small sea mollusc which leaves a splendid memory of its passing. From the deep oceans to the outside world, in order to retain the sea mark and to tell sea dreams lasting trough the time. In the 80' years Marilù Fernandez starts her professional experience through her own town Palermo.

In 1985 She leaves her region, arriving in Milan for her first personal exhibition in the "Galleria Meravigli". In 1991 she is invited at the "Musee Oceanografic" of Montecarlo ( Principality of Monaco), from where one of her creations inspired a stamp. From 1994 to 1998 her jewels are well recognized all around Europe in several exhibitions, London, Brussells, Rome, Paris at Faubourg Sant Honorè, Kiev ( Ukraine), Bologna, Torino, Treviso, Rovereto (Tn), Firenze and Strasbourg (France) .

In the 2000 years, after giving a price to the Nobel Rita Levi Montalcini, she has started a new period of her career passing her distribution in USA, New York, Middle East, Dubai and Beiruth and South America, San Paulo and Curitiba. The last jewels collections are dedicated to the culture of her land, Sicily, and are named The Kingdom of the two Sicily and Mare Nostrum.
